A George Steinbrenner story you havent heard

  Most people view George Steinbrenner as sort of a hard ass, and that he was, winning more more important than breathing he said that himself.  Heres a story to show he had a heart.. Back in 2004 after the Redsox did the unthinkable and came back from 3-0 down and beat the Yankees in 7 games on the Yankees home turf the Redsox were out on the field celebrating for about 20minutes when the head of the groundscrew looked up and saw Steinbrenner with his arms crossed watching all this.  He went over to the phone and dialed the # up in Georges box and asked for the Boss.   He said to him Mr Steinbrenner do you want me to get them off the field and move the celebration into the lockerooms, etc.  George said NO you let them stay out there, his reply but sir they are really trashing the field etc, Georges reply you have til April to get the field in good shape you let them stay out there and celebrate.  George realized how big of a moment that was for the Boston redsox franchise and let them enjoy it, so next time u have something bad to say about George just remember this story.
